Paper Swish! (Pickleball Match-Ups)

The Swish App by Swish Sports App is a convenient way to create pickleball match-ups; however, there are some disadvantages to using this app. First, the free version of the app doesn't allow a recreational user to generate round-robins. Second, in certain situations (such as 10 teams on 4 courts) even the paid version of the app doesn't seem to work well: the byes aren't distributed fairly among the teams.

Below you can find simple PDF versions of various team match-ups that you can print and avoid the issues above. These PDFs are designed for team play where each team of two players stays together for the meet. (I have each team choose a letter at random using laminated slips of paper in a jar before the play begins.) At the pickleball facility where I play the team play events are called "Partner Rally" since rally scoring is used to help move the rounds along more quickly. Anywhere from 2 to 5 courts are used to support from 4 to 12 teams.

Below you'll find various versions of match-ups depending on the number of players and the number of courts available. For example, 10 teams (20 players) on four courts will require 45 total games or 11 rounds of 4 games each plus a final round of 1 game, with two teams on "bye" each round. Have fun!
