This web site was developed and designed for the version of the SAT that was administered from March, 2005, to March, 2016. The primary changes to the math section of the SAT made in 2016 included a switch from multiple-choice questions with five answers to ones with four answers, along with the introduction of a no-calculator section and a different topic emphasis.

Although the ACT test and SAT subject tests have essentially remained the same, the SAT has not, and many of the SAT resources to be found here are out of date. However, the calendar is still current, the SAT history page is still a labor of love, and many of the math problems found here remain useful for practice. Just be aware that some math topics represented in the resources may no longer be tested, and that some FAQs may no longer be relevant. Thanks for visiting!

One-Page Math Practice Quizzes

SAT Math Strategy #1: Work With The Answers (2 pages) -- Every multiple-choice question has the answer printed right there. Why not make use of that? This one-page quiz has questions which can all be done by using the answers, like many on the SAT as well as the ACT. The answer to each question includes the strategy solution as well as the "math teacher" (math-oriented) solution.

SAT Math Strategy #2: Plug In Numbers (2 pages) -- Algebra can be tricky, and the ten free-response questions on the SAT don't have the answers for you to use. Plugging in numbers for variables can help in both situations. This one-page quiz has questions which can all be done using this strategy, like many on the SAT as well as the ACT. The answer to each question includes the strategy solution as well as the "math teacher" (math-oriented) solution.

Math Strategies Mini Quiz (4 pages) -- This one-page quiz has multiple-choice and free-response questions just waiting to be tamed by the SAT math strategies (like many of those on the actual SAT). Includes complete answers. (Three pages of answers for a one-page quiz. Go figure!)

SAT Math Vocabulary Quiz (3 pages) -- This one-page quiz will test your knowledge of the SAT math vocabulary that you need to know. All of this vocabulary is required knowledge on the ACT as well. Includes complete answers.

SAT Math Function Quiz (3 pages) -- This one-page quiz contains the kind of function questions that appear frequently on the SAT. With practice, you'll have no reason to be afraid of functions. Includes complete answers.

SAT Math Function Examples (2 pages) -- Can't get enough SAT function problems? This one-page worksheet quiz has examples of all the major types of function questions on the SAT: direct evaluation, indirect evaluation, tables, graphs, wacky symbol functions, and the use of a small vegetable as an argument to a function. Includes answers.

Full-Length Math Practice Quizzes

SAT Math Facts and Formulas Quiz (24 pages, 48 questions) -- Test your knowledge of SAT math facts, formulas, and vocabulary with this full-length quiz. Complete answers are included, and many questions involve vegetables of some kind. Cabbages, mostly.

SAT Math Easy Practice Quiz (11 pages, 37 questions) -- Math questions on the SAT range in difficulty from level 1 (easiest) to level 5 (hardest). Even if you only get the level 1 and level 2 questions and nothing else, you'll still get a 470! Build your confidence with this quiz that contains only level 1 and level 2 questions. Now in paper-saving two-column format! Answers are included, as well as some hints for the level 2 questions, but I'm hoping you won't need them. Bonus points: see how many different vegetables you can find in the questions.

SAT Math Easy Practice Quiz #2 (17 pages, 41 questions) -- By popular demand, here is another easy practice quiz for SAT math. Like the first easy quiz above, all the questions here are nothing but level 1 and level 2 in difficulty. Level 1 and level 2 questions make up about 40% of the math portion of the SAT, on average. This particular quiz has a question or two for each major topic on the SAT. (For a complete list of SAT math topics, see the left-hand column of the SAT Question Index.) Complete answers are included. See if you can spot the question that includes five (count 'em, five) different vegetables. A new personal best for me.

SAT Math Medium Practice Quiz (16 pages, 43 questions) -- Math questions on the SAT range in difficulty from level 1 (easiest) to level 5 (hardest). In order to get a 500, you need to get about half of the level 3 (medium) questions correct. If you need a math score of 580 or higher, you will need to get just about all of these questions correct. Get some medium question practice with this quiz that contains only level 3 questions, in tree-friendly two-column format. Complete answers are included.

SAT Math Hard Practice Quiz (18 pages, 42 questions) -- So you say you want to score 650 or higher on SAT Math? Are you finding that most of the math problems are easy except for the last few in each section? This quiz is for you! Since you'll need to get a lot of practice doing challenging problems, this quiz contains only level 4 and level 5 questions. Complete answers are included.

Math Strategies Quiz (18 pages, 24 questions) -- When you are stumped on an SAT or ACT math question, there are two very useful strategies that may help you to get the correct answer. This full-length quiz will help you become familiar with these strategies so that they will be second nature when you take the SAT or ACT for real. Includes complete answers.
